A status yellow wind warning for ten counties is in place until 9 o'clock tonight.
The counties affected are Dublin, Kildare, Cork, Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Louth, Meath, Wexford, and Wicklow.
Strong gusts will affect the whole east coast and most of the south coast for a short time.
Met Eireann states: "Strong southerly winds, veering westerly. Very strong gusts expected for a short time this afternoon and evening, causing some disruption."
