Advanced works have begun on the Iveagh Markets.
Dublin City Council says the work includes the removal of loose materials, installation of safe access routes, installation of crash decks, and the removal of vegetation.
It's expected to take 8 weeks to complete, and will then allow the design team safe access to complete the detailed design process and prepare tender documentation for a repair programme.

A statement from DCC says: "Dublin City Council is delighted to announce that advanced works have now begun on the Iveagh Markets.
"These include the removal of loose materials, installation of safe access routes, installation of crash decks & removal of vegetation. Francis Haughey Building Contractors have been appointed to carry out these works which are expected to take 8 weeks to complete.
"The City Council will provide information updates to the community and other stakeholders as works progress.
"These works are part of a 2 Stage Works Programme agreed with the Integrated Design Team led by Howley Hayes Cooney Architecture & including CORA Structural Engineers, Homan O’Brien Mech. & Elec., IAC Archaeology and Austin Reddy QS.
"Following completion of Stage 1 works, the Integrated Design Team will have full and safe access to all areas which will allow them to complete the detailed design process and prepare tender documentation for a comprehensive repair programme.
"The repair programme will: include extensive repairs to roofs, valleys and rainwater disposal systems; protect & secure windows/doors; secure structural columns which have been exposed; repair walls and parapets; remove lead paint throughout and provide safe access to structures to facilitate regular inspection and maintenance.
"The Stage 2 works are scheduled to commence in Q4 2024 and are likely to take between 12 and 18 months to complete.
"Dublin City Council is involved in a number of legal proceedings in relation to the Iveagh Markets which are currently before the courts. As such, the Council is unable to make any further comment as the matter is sub judice."
