Work on the new National Children's Hospital has come to a standstill despite coronavirus restrictions on building being lifted almost two months ago.
Construction stopped amid a row about who should foot the bill for the closure and reopening of the site.
The €1.7 billion euro children's hospital project has been dogged by delays and budget overruns.
The Irish Independent reports that no work has been carried out at the St James' Hospital site since the end of March despite restrictions being eased on construction sites since May 18th.
The National Paediatric Development Board is in dispute with the contractor BAM over who should pay the extra costs associated with the site being closed for 3 months and the additional cost of implementing social distancing rules on the site.
All of which is likely to further delay completion of the hospital which is scheduled to open in 2023.
The row has also contributed to the spiraling costs of the hospital which is one of the most expensive health care facilities in the world.
