Gardai are continuing to appeal for information about an attack on a woman on Dame Street which led to her suffering a miscarriage.
The woman in her 30s was taken to hospital with serious injuries following the assault on Sunday morning between 4am and 5am.
Officers at Pearse Street Garda Station are believed to be following a definite line of inquiry and are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
Suspect
Crime correspondent at The Star, Michael O'Toole, says gardai believe the alleged suspect was known to the woman.
He added: "She suffered a really terrible physical assault. She was rushed to hospital.
"Unfortunately she was pregnant at the time of the attack and she later lost the baby as a result of the attack. It's really shocking.
"The woman was really seriously injured herself, and she lost the baby, so it's doubly traumatic.
"Gardai are believed to be following a definite line of inquiry."
Anyone who was in the area, in particular drivers with dash cams, are asked to contact gardai.
