A woman in her 50s is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Tallaght yesterday afternoon.
It happened at around 3.20pm on the N81.
The road has re-opened following a technical exam of the scene.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who saw the crash, or who has dash-cam footage, to come forward.
A garda spokesperson says: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian that occurred on the N81 in Tallaght, Dublin 24, at approximately 3:20pm yesterday, Thursday 4th May 2023.
"The female pedestrian (50s) was taken to Tallaght University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
"The road was closed for a period to allow for a technical examination to be conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators. It has since reopened.
"Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in this area at the time of the collision, are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
