A Dublin woman has been locked in a room in her home for a "considerable" amount of time by masked burglars.
The burglary took place at a house in the Strand Road area of Portmarnock last Friday.
Five masked thieves falsely imprisoned the 24-year-old in a room, while they ransacked the house.
After they left, the woman remained trapped in the room until she was discovered by a relative.
Gardaí are appealing to locals and passers-by to help their investigation.
They want to speak with anyone who took the Coast Road between Baldoyle and Portmarnock between 6.30pm and 8pm on January 9th.
