A woman remains in a serious condition in hospital after a serious assault in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Gardaí and emergencies services responded to reports of a serious assault at a residential property in Clonshaugh, Dublin 17 at 12:25am on Saturday.
They found a woman in her 30s with serious injuries at the scene, she was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment and remains in a serious condition.
In a follow up search, a man in his forties was arrested and is being detained at a Garda Station in the north of the city, where he can be questioned for up to 24 hours.
