Almost half of people in Ireland say having Christmas Eve drinks with friends is their favourite moment of the festive season.
A survey carried out for This Is Beer has found, if given the choice of celebrity, most people would like to share a pint with Roy Keane.
Ireland’s love affair with music also came through in the results, with 21% of people surveyed wanting to have a beer with Irish rock icon Phil Lynott.
86% rated themselves as very knowledgeable when it comes to all things beer, and for the most part they backed this up.
77% correctly stated the winning combination of barley, hops, water and yeast is what creates beer’s unique tastes.
