People are being warned to take extreme care during tonight's weather warning.
Strong winds are being forecast between 9pm and midnight, with a red warning in Cork
A status yellow wind alert has been issued for Dublin, but Met Eireann says its warning may be upgraded.
Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather says people need to put precautions in place:
"Don't say it's yellow, it's grand.
"If I had a trampoline, I'd be tying it down as best I can right now."
Lots of questions and I can’t reply to all but if I was planning on staying in a tent tonight I would be making alternative plans quickly.
