A doctor's appealing to users of 'e-cigarettes' to take extreme care around children.
A number of children have been treated at the emergency department of the Mercy University Hospital in Cork this week for poisoning related to the devices.
Dr Chris Luke says kids can be attracted to the content of the e-cigarettes because of their colours and flavourings, but the liquid nicotine is extremely dangerous.
The makers of one brand of the device say the liquid shouldn't be left in the reach of children and that most doses, if swallowed, aren't fatal.
