The HSE will be back at Electric Picnic this year for on-site drug checking.
Samples from a previous festival this year, showed high strength cocaine was in circulation. The service is warning of drugs with stronger doses being in circulation and of harmful drug mixtures which can have drastic effects.
Nicki Killeen from the HSE says it's important that people tell medics what they've taken if they're suffering an emergency.
She is the HSE Emerging Drugs Trends Project Manager and says they identified drugs at festivals that had never been discovered in Ireland before.
''Our surrender bins are in three of the tents and these are safe spaces for people to get health intervention, to come and chat to the staff there and should they choose to surrender the drugs. We want to get that message that we are working with gardai to ensure we can have this operation. ''
