Infamous US Radio Personality Casey Kasem has died.

ABC News confirmed that the DJ died in a California hospital today at 82.

He was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, a form of Parkinson's disease, in 2013.

Born Kemal Amin Kasem in Detroit, the disc jockey launched "American Top 40" until Ryan Seacrest took over, he also starred in Saved by the bell and Sesame Street.

Kasem was known to audience for ending each radio broadcast with "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars,".

Here he his reprising his role as the voice of well loved Shaggy in Scooby-Doo
