Ulster Bank says it's fixed a problem that meant thousands of customers didn't get paid this morning.

It's the latest in a long line of technical issues at the bank, which it's apologised for.

10,000 social welfare payments were among the transactions that didn't appear in Ulster Bank accounts earlier.

Ulster Bank had notified customers of the problem in a tweet:

"We're experiencing delays applying credits to some customers' accounts, which we’re working to fix urgently".

"Sorry if this is causing you problems.

We'll post an update once we have more information. If you need help send us a private message or message us securely in our app", the statement read.

Ulster Bank has customers have faced intermittent account and payment issues over the past number of years.
