Drugs worth €65,000 have been seized in a series of searches in Dublin.
Gardaí from Kevin Street Divisional Drug Unit assisted by the DMR Surveillance unit, carried out a planned operation at two houses in Dublin 8 yesterday evening on Nicholas Street and Bride Street.
A stop and search operation was then put in place and a 21-year-old woman was searched, and diamorphine worth €29,960 was seized.
A further stop and search was conducted and a 52 year old man with over €4,450 in cash was arrested.
Both were arrested at the scene and detained under Section 2, Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Kevin Street Garda station.
Two properties were then searched and Diamorphine with an estimated street value of €35,000 was seized.
Investigations are ongoing.
