Two men are due in court later this morning in connection with a major drugs bust on Dublin's southside.
The pair were arrested two months ago after a Garda operation led to the discovery of €650,000 worth of heroin.
Some time ago, a Special Garda Tasks Force was set up to take drugs and the people who sell them off the streets of the Dublin South Central area.
On October 2nd, officers from this unit stopped and searched three men on Crumlin Road.
They found a small quantity of heroin and shortly afterwards, they raided an apartment in Westpark, Rathcoole where they seized €650,000 worth of the drug along with a hydraulic press, bagging materials and scales.
36-year-old Keith O'Brien with an address at Westpark and 30-year-old John Paul Gantley, who lives at Dolphin House, were charged in connection with the bust.
The other suspect was released without charge.
O'Brien and Gantley were granted bail when they were first brought before the courts and are due to appear before a DC Judge again today where they should find out how the DPP wishes to deal with their case.
