Two men have been charged in relation to the serious assault of another man in the city centre.
He was attacked on South Anne Street over the weekend.
This horrific attack happened at around half one on Sunday morning when a man was set upon by a group of men.
The victim – in his 20s – remains in a critical but stable condition at Beaumont Hospital.
Two men in their 20s were arrested yesterday about the assault and were questioned at Pearse Street Garda Station.
They have since been charged and will appear in court at a later date.
Gardai say their investigations are ongoing.
Investigation
A garda spokesperson says: "Gardaí who are investigating the serious assault of a man (aged in his 20s) that occurred on Anne Street South, Dublin 2 on Sunday, 5th March 2023, have arrested two males.
"Both men (aged in their 20s) were arrested yesterday, Monday 6th March 2023, and detained in Pearse Street Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
"They have since been charged and are due to appear before court at a later date.
"The injured male remains in a critical but stable position in Beaumont Hospital.
"Investigations are ongoing."
