Two men have been arrested after a gun was seized in Finglas in the early hours of this morning.
Gardai observed a man dropping a rucksack on Glasnevin Avenue at 10-past-12 this morning.
They found a sawn off shotgun and ammunition in the bag.
Two men, one in his 20s and one in his 30s, were arrested and are currently detained at Finglas Garda station where they can be held for up to a week.
All of the seized items will now be sent to the Garda Technical Bureau for further examination, and the investigation is continuing.

A Garda spokesperson says: "Gardaí have seized a firearm, ammunition and arrested two men following an operation in Finglas this morning, Tuesday 8th November 2022.
"At approximately 12:10am this morning, Gardaí observed a male on Glasnevin Avenue dropping a rucksack. A search of the rucksack discovered a sawn off shotgun and ammunition.
"Two men, one aged in his 20s and the other in his 30s were arrested as a result and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Finglas Garda station. They can be held for up to 7 days.
"All of the seized items will now be sent to the Garda Technical Bureau for further examination.
