Two Machine Guns Seized During A Raid In The North Inner City

Two machine guns have been seized during a planned search in Dublin.

As part of an operation targeting organised crime, a premises in the north inner city was searched yesterday.

During the raid, members of the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau discovered two machine guns and a quantity of ammunition.

A 48 year-old man was arrested and taken to Mountjoy Garda Station.

He is being held under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and can be questioned for up to three days.

Assistant Commissioner John O’Driscoll, heads up Organised and Serious Crime;
