The garda watchdog is investigating one of last night's fatal crashes in Dublin.
Two people died in separate collisions in Fairview and on the N81.
A woman in her 20s was one of three people in a car which hit a lampost in Fairview at around ten to two this morning.
She was pronounced dead in hospital and a 26 year old man is fighting for his life while a 20 year old is in a stable condition.
Its emerged the car was being chased by Gardai after it came to its attention at a checkpoint in the area.
Now the Garda Ombudsman is investigating.
Elsewhere, a 21 year old man was killed in a single vehicle crash on the N81 on the Tallaght side of Brittas.
Four other young people were also in the car and they're being treated for non life threatening injuries.
Gardai are continuing to appeal to anyone who witnessed either of this morning's two fatal crashes to get in touch with them.
The crashes come as gardai gear up for their National Slow Down day on Friday.
