Two people have been charged with a serious assault in Tallaght.
A 20 year old man is fighting for his life in hospital after he was attacked by a number of people on St Dominic's Road at 4am on New Year's Day.
A 23 year old man and a 20 year old woman have been charged and will appear in court this morning.
A second man aged 20 has been arrested and is being detained at Tallaght Garda Station.
Gardai are asking anyone who may have been in a fast food restaurant near the Square Tallaght from around 2am and who may have information to contact them.
