Staff at Twitter will begin finding out if they've been laid off today, including at its Irish operations.
The social media company employs 500 people in Dublin.
Billionaire Elon Musk promised to shake things up at the site when he bought the platform for $44 billion dollars and almost immediately announced changes.
Twitter has said staff will know by 4 pm Irish time if the job cuts impact them. Many employees have already taken to the social media platform, saying they have been let go.
There have been suggestions that up to half of the company's workforce, or 3,700 staff, could lose their jobs.
The company’s offices worldwide have been temporarily closed and staff have been locked out of their accounts.
An internal memo seen by the Reuters news agency suggests workers will be told via email from today if they'll keep their jobs and offices will be temporarily closed.
