Donald Trump says he has been charged with mishandling classified documents, after he left the White House.
The 76 year-old made the announcement on his social media site, TRUTH Social.
The former US President claims he has been summoned to appear in a federal court in Florida, next Tuesday.
The US Department of Justice has yet to release details on the indictment, but US media is reporting Trump is to face seven charges.
He is the first president in US history to face criminal charges.
