The trial of a man accused of murdering his former partner in Clonsilla has heard that he feared his life was under threat by some of her relatives.
Vesel Jahiri, who has an address at Lohunda Crescent in Clonsilla, denies stabbing Anna Finnegan to death in September 2012.
Anna Finnegan, a 25-year-old mother of two, died after being stabbed at her home in Allendale Glen in Clonsilla.
Her brother Karl claims Vesel Jahiri burst into her home shortly after the children were put to bed on Sept 21 2012.
He claims the Kosovo native was armed with a knife and stabbed him twice before chasing after his younger sister.
Today, the court heard that Mr. Jahiri was living in fear of Anna's sister and her cousin over alleged threats made on his life.
A large kitchen knife and a smaller one from the same set belonging to the victim were shown to the jury.
The accused claims Karl Finnegan used these knives to attack him but Karl denied that during cross examination today.
Mr. Jahiri denies murdering the mother of his children and says he acted in self defence when he was confronted by her brother.
