A court has heard how a father of two, who was found in a ditch behind Dublin airport in January 2009, died after being stabbed in the chest.

Alan Harte of Claireville Grove, Glasnevin, is accused of murdering 28-year-old Peter Gunn at a flat in Cabra Park.

On January 7th 2009, Peter Gunn's nephew reported his uncle missing.

His body was found lying in a ditch behind Dublin airport just over a week later.

It's the prosecution's case that Alan Harte stabbed Mr. Gunn over remarks allegedly made about a relative of his.

The jury has heard that both men were drinking with Kastriot Boza and another man at a pub on Parnell Street on January 4th 2009.

A few hours later, they went to Mr. Boza's flat in Cabra Park where the accused allegedly attacked Mr. Gunn with a kitchen knife.

Mr. Boza told Gardai that he helped clean up the crime scene and dispose of the body, a crime he was jailed for two years ago.

The Albanian native has now begun giving evidence from the stand in a trial that's expected to finish before the end of next week.
