Bus journey times along the quays in Dublin city centre have fallen by up to a third since traffic restrictions were introduced in August.
The controversial changes at Bachelors Walk on the north quays and Burgh Quay and Aston Quay on the southside ban private cars and commercial vehicles from using the route for most of the day.
Anne Graham from the National Transport Authority appeared before the city council's mobility and public realm SPC yesterday.
She told public reps the first phase of the transport plan has cut travel times for buses by 28 per cent on average;
"In the morning peak hour, which is 8am to 9am, 25 per cent reduction in travel time for buses on the north quays has been measured."
She went on to say there's been a 32 per cent reduction for buses during the evening peak of 5pm to 6pm.
