HSE management could be asked to explain why they've told some agencies they can continue to pay top-up allowances to their executives this morning.
According to The Irish Times, the Health Service has written to voluntary hospitals and agencies and told them the extra payments may be permitted - if those in receipt can show they have a contractual entitlement to them.
HSE personnel including Director General Tony O'Brien will take questions from TDs at the Public Accounts Committee later.
The Irish Times Industrial Correspondent Martin Wall says they'll tell the Committee that if the Government wants top-ups to end - they'll have to legislate to stop them.
