The Garda Commissioner says the penalty points system is working well.
Martin Callinan says the force has tightened up its procedures for dealing with the quashing of penalty points following controversy last year.
He says an internal Garda report, and an external audit by the state spending watchdog, uncovered similar amounts of penalty points notices being quashed.
But he says the system is working, and that he'll make sure it stays that way:
