Over two tonnes of tobacco with an estimated street value over €1.24m has been seized at Dublin Port.
Revenue officers with the help of detector dog Waffle made the discovery yesterday.
The smuggled tobacco was concealed in A4 boxes labelled as ‘multipurpose office paper’ which had originated in Hong Kong.
Investigations are ongoing.
Revenue says this seizure is part of ongoing operations targeting the shadow economy and the supply and sale of illegal tobacco products.
