Three men have been arrested and stolen property including a car, have been recovered, in north Dublin.
Gardaí from Coolock stopped and searched a vehicle in Artane in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The car had failed to stop for gardai at around 2.30am, and was pursued by officers.
A number of items which had been stolen during a burglary an hour earlier in Ballyboughal, Co Dublin were recovered including keys to a stolen vehicle which was located a short time later.
The three men in their 20s and 40s were arrested and charged.
Two are due in court today, and the third is due before the courts next month.
Investigation
A Garda spokesperson says: "Gardaí attached to Coolock stopped and searched a vehicle in Artane in the early hours of Sunday morning 27th February, 2022 and arrested three men.
"At approximately 2.30a.m. Gardaí signalled a vehicle to stop; the car did not comply and Gardaí pursued the vehicle into a nearby cul de sac. The car and its three occupants were searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977. "During the course of the search a number of items and car keys were located in the vehicle which have since been confirmed as stolen property taken during a burglary that occurred an hour earlier in Ballyboughal, Co. Dublin. A stolen vehicle which was also taken during the burglary was located a short time later containing more stolen property. "The three male occupants of the car - one aged in his 40s and two aged in their 20s - were arrested and taken to Garda stations in North Dublin and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. "All three men have been charged in relation to the stolen property. One man - 20s - was released on station bail and is due to appear before Criminal Courts of Justice on 25th March, 2022. The remaining two men - aged in their 40s and 20s - were both charged and will appear before Criminal Court of Justice this morning."
