The Tanaiste says the closure of Mount Carmel Hospital should not have a negative impact on other maternity hospitals in Dublin.
The private facility went into liquidation and closed its doors yesterday with the loss of over 200 jobs.
Former workers are staging a protest outside the hospital this afternoon.
Speaking in Dublin, Eamon Gilmore says its closure should not lead to overcrowding in other maternity facilities.
