The Lucan pool building has been delayed. Again.
Construction began in summer 2019, and the project has been plagued by issues that forced the timeline to be extended.
The latest expected completion date was to be this month, but it has been put back over problems with utilities connections and a moveable pool floor.
Local Fianna Fáil Councillor, Shane Moynihan, says this latest delay, possibly to December, is frustrating news for Lucan:
"This isn't acceptable by any measure." This is an amenity that people are gonna be waiting a long time for."
Cllr. Moynihan says locals have been contacting him for "weeks" suggesting there's a low number of workers on the site.
"I think we're all aware of the disruption that construction has caused both in terms of car parking around that area, but also in terms of the pedestrian crossings."
Really disappointing update received by Lucan councillors today announcing another delay in the delivery of the Lucan Pool (see image).
There is a meeting of the Council on Monday and I will be asking the following questions (see 2nd image). #palmerstownfonthill #lucan pic.twitter.com/w02kRBVU3p
