The East Link Bridge has been renamed today.
It's now referred to as the Tom Clarke bridge after the 1st signatory of the 1916 Proclamation.
Thomas Clarke was executed at Kilmainham Gaol this day 100 years ago for his part in the Rising.
A lone piper from the Dublin Fire Brigade Pipe Band played while President Michael D. Higgins unveiled the plaque.
Councillor Nial Ring proposed the naming of the bridge after Dublin City Council took control of it earlier this year.
