A teenage boy has died after getting into difficulty while swimming in north Dublin.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at the popular Burrow Beach in Sutton at around 7.30pm yesterday evening.
The Irish Coast Guard was among those involved in the operation.
The teenager was pulled from the water and taken to Beaumont Hospital where his condition was initially described as serious.
He was then transferred to Temple Street Hospital where he later passed away from his injuries.
