A date in October has been set for the retrial of a 16-year-boy accused of murdering a woman in the IFSC area of Dublin.
The teenager, who can't be named because of his age, stood trial earlier this month for the murder of a woman named Uransetseg Tserenendorj.
However, the jury was discharged after failing to reach a verdict.
The victim was stabbed on her way home from work on January 20th last year and died in hospital two weeks later.
The boy pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter at the outset of his trial but that wasn’t accepted by the DPP and he was tried for murder.
The jury was discharged after becoming deadlocked following several days of deliberations and the DPP then had to decide whether or not to pursue a retrial.
The court was told today that she has decided to seek a retrial. Because of his age, his barrister told the judge there was a degree of urgency in getting it on again.
October 24th was then set for the retrial
