Taxi drivers will take to the streets of Dublin later this morning.
They are set to demonstrate outside the Dail over a number of proposed industry changes.
The protest by the National Private Hire and Taxi Association is to coincide with a meeting of the Oireachtas Transport Committee on updating taxi regulations.
Drivers have handed in hundreds of submissions objecting to the lowering of wheelchair vehicle standards, a bad on advertising on cars and subjecting drivers to credit card charges.
Taxi owners are also angry over a lack of ranks and what they say is no attempt by National Transport Authority to challenge the oversupply in the market.
