Taxi drivers are calling for safer car models to be introduced to protect them from attacks.
It's after three men attempted to hijack a taxi in the city centre yesterday morning while on a journey from Tallaght.
Luckily the attack was foiled, when the driver managed to take the keys from the ignition and run towards James Street where he alerted Gardai.
There's been a surge in carjackings in recent months and John Usher from the Taxi Drivers Association says new, safer cars could be produced if a standardised model was introduced across Europe.
