Dollymount Strand has just re-opened to swimmers this afternoon, but Sandycove Beach remains closed for now.
Rainfall on Sunday and Monday led to waste water overflow at a treatment facilities and pumping stations.
Concerns over water quality led to the swimming bans being issued.
Dollymount, Seapoint and the Forty Foot have passed the necessary tests and the bans have been lifted.
However, Sandycove Beach remains closed - with further test results expected tomorrow.
The beach will be re-opened if those results are 'acceptable'.

Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council added: "It should be noted that all other bathing areas in the dlr area such as White Rock and Killiney Beach continue to be open, safe for swimming and unaffected."
A summer-long swimming ban remains in place at Sandymount and Merrion strands because of ongoing concerns over cleanliness.
