The 100th annual Liffey Swim has been taking place this afternoon -- despite some concerns about water quality.
The first-place winner in the men's event was 15-year-old Mark Hanley of North Dublin Swimming Club with 10 minutes.
Sinéad Delaney won the women's event.
The other podium finishers in the men's event were Billy Keogh (61) of Sandycove Swimming Club, who finished the course in 7 minutes. Conor O Neill (74) of Phoenix Swimming Club finished in 9 minutes and 45 seconds.
The full results for the women's race are expected shortly.
Dublin Fire Brigade set up decontamination showers for the participants at the finish line as usual.

Lord Mayor Paul McAuliffe said it was a "great day for Dublin".
"Dublin Fire Brigade, the Civil Defence, all of the volunteers that are part of the Liffey Swim -- it's really a great spectacle," he said.
"And look, the concerns around the water quality, it was a difficult call yesterday. All the information was made available to the organisers and in turn to swimmers. They made their decision, they ploughed on and I'm delighted that they did."
He'll host a gala event at the Mansion House tonight to celebrate the last century of Liffey Swim winners.
