An investigation's underway after a man was injured in a suspected gangland related attack in Clondalkin yesterday evening.
The injured man was rushed to hospital after staggering into a local Garda station with gunshot wounds.
The victim, a man in his 30s, was shot several times on the grounds of a Church at Bawnogue Road in Clondalkin.
He somehow managed to drive to Clondalkin Garda Station and staggered inside at around 6.15pm before collapsing in front of the public desk.
An ambulance was called for and he was taken to Tallaght hospital where he's being treated for gunshot wounds to the neck and body.
Crime scenes were established at Bawnogue Church, Clondalkin Garda Station and part of Tower Road.
It's understood the injured man was well known to Gardai and a number of theories on a motive for the attack are now being investigated.
In the meantime, anyone with information is asked to come forward.
