The majority of people want the legal age for the sale of tobacco in Ireland raised from 18 to 21.
The Irish Heart Foundation says almost three quarters of people it surveyed are in favour of the change.
It's calling on the government to now take action and save lives.

One in every three young people who start smoking will die of a tobacco-related illness in Ireland.
Director of Advocacy, Chris Macey, says the numbers of young people smoking in Ireland's increasing;
"The smoking rate fell dramatically over the last twenty five years from 41 per cent to 13 per cent. It started rising again, we're concerned it's down to the impact that e-cigarettes have had."
