The number of young people taking their own lives has dropped by nearly a quarter.
The latest stats from the CSO show fewer 15 to 24 year olds died by suicide last year.
However, Ireland still has the fourth highest suicide rate in the EU for that age group - with 57 younsters taking their own lives in 2013.
