Staff at Irish Rail are threatening to go on strike.
SIPTU members have rejected an €8.7M cost-saving plan.
Paul Cullen is the SIPTU rep at Irish Rail:
“Well what happens next, as advised to our members previous to this, that we have no option now but to ballot for industrial action, strike action in the event of the company attempting to implement the recommendations without agreement.”
However, another union at the company has voted in favour of the measures.
The TSSA voted 72 percent to 28 percent in favour of the plan.
