One of Dublin's oldest bowling alleys is facing closure.
A property group wants to demolish Leisureplex in Stillorgan, which first opened in the sixties.
Kennedy Wilson wants to make room for more than 200 apartments at the site.
The 232 luxury homes would include a roof terrace, cinema, gym and residents' lounge.
If given planning permission Kennedy Wilson plans to create four restaurants and cafes, and two retail units on the site.
However, a local Councillor has raised concerns about the potential loss of the bowling alley.
Barry Saul believes a leisure centre should be incorporated into any new development at the site.
"We need to have a happy mix of convenience shopping, retail, restaurants, but also leisure facilities", he said.
Leisureplex in Stillorgan is also used as a training ground by 45 Special Olympics athletes.
St. John of God Dublin South East says the bowling alley "plays a significant role in the lives of many" of the people it supports.

"The men and women who attend our day service, our residential houses, respite services, children’s services and our schools all use the facility".
