A Dublin Councillor has called the person that vandalised a statue of Luke Kelly "an absolute prick".
Black paint was sprayed across the eyes of the Dubliners singer on Wednesday evening.
The statue is one of two of Luke Kelly unveiled in Dublin this year, to mark 35 years since his death.
The vandalised one is a large sculpture of his head, which sits at the corner of Sheriff Street where he was raised.
Local Social Democrats Councillor, Gary Gannon, said the vandal is "an absolute prick".
"If you egged them on, or are now laughing at their behaviour, then you too are a complete prick", he said.
I’m not going to share the photo, but the person who defaced the Luke Kelly statue is an absolute prick. If you know this person, if you egged them on, or are now laughing at their behaviour, then you too are a complete prick.

The graffiti that was sprayed onto a statue has already been washed off.
Special anti-vandal paint was used on the statue when it was first designed.
Dublin City Council staff cleaned the statue on Guild Street this morning.
I'm outraged and really annoyed that any person could to this to the statue of the great late Luke Kelly. pic.twitter.com/1fruwlnqXS
