The Stardust Inquests are now expected to take place in April.
A decision to carry out inquests into the deaths of 48 people who died in the nightclub fire in Dublin in 1981 was granted in 2019 however the process has faced numerous delays.
The Coroner has indicated a start date of the 19th of April.
The families of those who died say they look forward to the commencement, saying that after almost four decades there is now light at the end of the tunnel.
A spokesperson says: "The families have battled through thick and thin to get to today. Now, after almost four decades, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
"The families look forward to the commencement of the process in the months ahead."
