A dog missing in Dún Laoghaire was saved after being found struggling in the waters of the harbour.
The RNLI launched a dinghy to rescue Toby the King Charles Spaniel just before noon.
Lifeboat mechanic Kieran O'Connell went to the rescue.
He said the unlucky dog was shaken, but has now been reunited with his owners.
He says a member of the public did the right thing by calling the lifeboat station.
"They [did] the right thing actually but not entering the water themselves or trying to go down the pier to retrieve the dog," he said.
"What we recommend is make that call," he said.
