A solidarity event is to be held this week, after a church in Dublin 10 faced criticism for flying a pride flag.
Last week, Ballyfermot Assumption Parish shared a picture on social media of the LGBT flag flying outside its church, with a caption saying "all are welcome".

The Facebook post received hundreds of comments, with some labeling the move as "anti-Catholic".

The Ballyfermot Anti Racism Network will hold an event on Friday evening.
Organisers say the gathering will celebrate and support the local LGBT community.
