Sinn Fein is calling on Minister Catherine Martin to drop the ban on music and dancing at weddings.

Currently people getting married can only have 25 people present, the same limit is in place for funerals.

Guidelines also prohibit couples from having live music or dancing at a wedding.

The Minister Should Review Wedding Rules

Fingal Deputy Louise O'Reilly says it's a small change that would mean a lot.

The guidelines that were issued came from Fáilte Ireland.

"So I imagine it's Minister Catherine Martin, and I'd ask the Minister to just have a look at this."

"We're talking about couples, many of whom have had to postpone their wedding a couple of times at this stage."

"They have also had to scale it [the guest list] back very very severely, to the very very bare bones."

"So all they want is that concession to have a small bit of music and maybe a bit of dancing."
