A spokesperson for Simon Cowell has confirmed his mother's died at the age of 89.
The family's released a statement saying everyone's heartbroken at the loss of Julie Cowell, and they would "miss her terribly".
She was the mother of four boys - Nicholas, Simon, Tony and Michael, and step-mother to John and June.
