More than seven in ten victims of alleged sexual assault treated at a Dublin hospital in 2012 had drunk 12 units of alcohol.
The figures are contained in the annual report of the Sexual Assault Treatment Unit of the Rotunda Hospital.
Fifty nine of the 318 patients treated at the unit that year were unsure if they had been attacked, because of the amount they'd had to drink.
The people they treated ranged in age between 13 and 78, and 20 per cent had not made a complaint to Gardai about what had happened to them.
